ART. WORLD WAR I and IMPERIALISM with tutor Rosanna Eckersley. This course looks at the art produced during and after WWI on the home and war fronts. Artworks will include Nevinson's "Paths of Glory", John Singer Sargent's "Gassed" and Jacob Epstein's "Rock Drill"

ESSEX CHURCHES with tutor Judith Williams. This course will enable students to date the history of a church as well as recognize the distinctive architecture of each. It is hoped that visits to local churches will supplement the course.

RENE LALIQUE, MASTER CRAFTSMAN IN JEWELLERY AND GLASS Rene Lalique (1860-1956) was one of the most innovative designers of the last century. The lecture will examine his achievemnets in the decorative arts, the development of his business and later interior design commissions.
