Always lively, entertaining and informative, Andy Beharrell will be exploring the characterful structures and events linked with our east coast waters in 3 related sessions:
1. Platforms, Pirates and Pornography: the unique history of the Maunsell Forts.
2. Shipwrecks Around East Anglia; the hidden histories of Roman trade, Anglo Dutch wars and the devastations of WW2.
3. Smuggling Around East Anglia: the C17th and C18th golden age of smuggling
and the failure of government attempts to combat the creative methods used by smugglers to evade capture.
